US Military Spending
The world spent in 2007 $1.2 trillion producing guns, almost half of it was by the US ($583 billion projected for 2008) - in comparison, the US GDP is ¼ that of the world. The distant #2 is France, with $74 billion. São Tomé and Príncipe ranked last, merely $581,700 spent a year (2004).
