A fuel cell is an electrochemical conversion device that produces electricity from fuel. A hydrogen cell uses hydrogen as fuel and emits water, instead of carbon dioxide.
The much-talked-about Hydrogen Economy (vs. now the hydrocarbon one) tries to cultivate and utilize the most abundant energy carrier in the Universe – hydrogen. Ironically, the most efficient way to manufacture hydrogen today is from natural gas (95% today), biomass or water (with electricity), so it puts us back into the vicious circle again.
